THE RESURRECTION CHANGES EVERYTHING

The resurrection is the truth that should change our very lives! 

The resurrection is history-making, earth-shaking, life-transforming, and an eternity-changing truth. 

Philippians 3:10–11 “that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead. 

Ephesians 1:19–20 I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power 20 that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.

1. RESURRECTION POWER IS THE POWER TO CANCEL YOUR PAST.

Colossians 2:13–14 You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. 14 He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross.

Sin is failing to meet God’s standard. 

He did not come to condemn you. He came to change you. 

John 3:17 "I didn't come to condemn the world. . . I came to save it." 

Jeremiah 31:34b "I will remember their sins no more."  

God cancels your past. That allows you to get on with the present.   

Romans 8:1 "There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."  

2. RESURRECTION POWER IS THE POWER TO OVERCOME AND MOVE THROUGH YOUR PROBLEMS.  

The fact is everybody's got problems. 

Resurrection power is the power to overcome your problems instead of letting your problems overcome you. 

Romans 8:35,37 "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ. Shall trouble or hardship or danger? No, in all of these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loves us."  

"conquerors" means “to prevail or overcome completely”

The fact is we can't control our circumstances, but we can control how we respond to them.  

No matter how dark the situation is, God can turn it around. No situation is hopeless. 

God loves to turn crucifixions into resurrections. 

3. RESURRECTION POWER IS THE POWER TO CHANGE WHO YOU ARE.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

When someone becomes a Christian, he or she becomes a new person inside. 

It's followed by a lifetime process.

Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. 

Galatians 5:22–23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control….” 

These are the characteristics of the person who lets the power of God work in his life. 

You were made to depend upon God.  

You're never a failure until you give up.  

HE IS RISEN! AND HE IS COMING BACK! ARE YOU READY?
