1. YOU HAVE TO PREPARE YOUR KIDS FOR LIFE.
Luke 2:52 (CSB) And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and with people.
Four ways Jesus increased
First it says Jesus grew in wisdom.
He grew in stature.
He grew in favor with God.
He grew in favor with man.
Deuteronomy 6:4–7 (NLT) “Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. 5 And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. 6 And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. 7 Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.
Three areas of importance
1. Relationships.
2. Character.
3. Values.
2. PROTECTING YOUR KIDS IN STORMS.
Proverbs 14:26 (NLT) Those who fear the Lord are secure; he will be a refuge for their children.
three storms.
Change.
2. Failure.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 “Two are better than one. If one of them falls down the other can help him up. But if someone is alone and falls, it’s just too bad, because there is no one to help him.” Family is to be there in times of failure.
3. Rejection
Mark 3:25 “A home filled with strife and division destroys itself.”
Four things.
1. Hear.
2. Hug them.
3. Hope.
4. Help.
3. PLAY WITH YOUR KIDS FOR FUN.
Ps. 127:3a “Children are a gift from God.”
Deuteronomy 16:11 “Celebrate with your whole family.”
Ecclesiastes 11:8 “People ought to enjoy every day of their lives, no matter how long they live.”
4. POINT YOUR KIDS TO GOD.
Ephesians 6:4 “Fathers, bring up your children in the training and instruction of the Lord.”
Proverbs 9:10 “Knowing God results in every other kind of understanding.”
Philippians 3:8 “Everything else is worthless compared with the priceless gain of knowing Christ Jesus, my Lord.”
Joshua 24:15 (NLT) “Choose this day what you’re going to do. But as for me and my house, we’re going to serve the Lord.”
