The surrendered life is the significant life.
To make your life count you must surrender your whole life to Christ and base your life on God’s truth about you and not the lies you believe about you.
“you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind. And love your neighbor as yourself“ Luke 10:27 NLT.
Jesus wants us to use our minds to love God.
Satan is the author of the messages that we keep hearing and he’s trying to use your dad, your mom or someone else that was important in your life to destroy you.
The only way to reverse the curse is to replace the lies with God‘s truth.
“he was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies“ John 8:44.
Listening to and believing lies leads to a life of bondage, which keeps us from making our lives count.
“do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God‘s will is, his good, pleasing and perfect will“ Romans 12:2.
Philippians 4:8 “whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable if anything is excellent or praiseworthy the think about such things”.
“the truth will set you free“ John 8:32.
Some scripture to help you become all that God created you to be.
You are a Keeper! “Though my father and mother for sake me, the Lord will take me in“ Psalm 27:10.
You’re valuable! “You have been bought and paid for by Christ, so you belong to him“ 1 Corinthians 7:23 TLB.
You’re loved! “The mountains and hills may crumble, but my love for you will never end; I will keep forever my promise of peace. So says the Lord who loves you“ Isaiah 54:10 GNT.
You’re forgiven in Jesus Christ! “I am the God who forgives your sins. And I do this because of who I am. I will not hold your sins against you“ Isaiah 43:25 GNT. Ephesians 1:7–8 (GNB)For by the blood of Christ we are set free, that is, our sins are forgiven. How great is the grace of God, 8which he gave to us in such large measure!
You’re capable! “I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength“ Philippians 4:13 NLT.
You have a purpose! “I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future“ Jeremiah 29:11.
You’re His masterpiece in Christ! “We are God’s masterpiece. He has created us a new in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago” Ephesians 2:10 NLT.
We can’t seize the lives God has waiting for us until we surrender the things that disrupt our relationship with him.
The Bible calls us to encourage one another:
“Encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing” 1 Thessalonians 5:11.
“Encourage one another daily, as long as it is call today, so that none of you may be hardened by sans deceitfulness” Hebrews 3:13.
“Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds” Hebrews 10:24.
Make your life count! Focus on the promises of God.
To make my life count I need to deal with my cravings.
“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is I have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. Philippians 4:12
Matthew 11:28-29. “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me, watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.“
Life in Christ is the path to life recovery.
Some common emotional needs
Acceptance.
“When he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together in says, rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep. I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents then over 99 righteous persons who do not need to repent” Luke 15:5-7
Affirmation.
“do not be misled: bad company corrupts good character” 1 Corinthians 15:33.
“if God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own son, but gave him up for us all how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” Romans 8:31–32.
Approval.
Attention.
“where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me, even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you“ Psalm 139:7 -12
Affection.
Longings are what keep us hoping for heaven.
“the temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure“ 1 Corinthians 10:13 in NLT.
You only have this one life. MAKE IT COUNT!
