OVERCOMING YOUR FEAR OF FAILURE

2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of self-discipline.

Giving into fear can cost us far more than most of us realize.

Matthew 25:24-25 The man who had received one talent came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man. So I was afraid. See, here’s what belongs to you…

Matthew 25: 28 “Take the talent from him and give it to the one who has ten talents.”

Don’t let someone else’s failure, or someone else’s fear become your failure and/or fear.

Three Biblical Truths

One, You will fail.

James 3:2 (NKJV) For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man….

When you do fail, allow yourself to feel the disappointment, but not disapproval.

Failure is an event, never a person.

Romans 5:3 Not only that, but we rejoice in our stresses and distresses, knowing that these stresses and distresses produce the ability to keep on going.

Two, You can Overcome

Proverbs 24:16 Though a righteous man falls seven times. He rises again.

Micah 7:8 Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light.

2 Corinthians 4:8–9 (NLT)We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. 9 We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.

Failure is the price that I pay on the road to success.

Galatians 6:9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

It doesn’t matter what happens to you. It matters what happens in you.

Three, You must take faith risks.

Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God.

“Your greatest fear, failure, will lead to your greatest pain, and that is regret.”

Acts 5:38 “Therefore, in this present case I advise you to leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, if it is man, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.

If it’s your own idea, you are going to sink and yes God can help you overcome. If it is of God no one will be able to stop you.
