The Power of the Resurrection

The resurrection of Jesus is not a nice religious story or a metaphor. It is the

single most powerful event in human history. It proves that death has been

defeated, sin has been paid for, and hope has been guaranteed.

1. The Power to Conquer Death (1 Corinthians 15:12-19)

Paul is blunt: If Christ is not raised, our faith is useless and we are still in

our sins.

But Christ is raised! Death lost its sting. The grave lost its victory.

The resurrection is God’s loudest declaration: “I have the final word over

death!”

Romans 6:9 says death no longer has dominion over Him. The same power

that raised Jesus will one day raise you and me.

2. The Power to Forgive and Justify (1 Corinthians 15:17 & Romans

4:25)

Paul says in verse 17: “If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and

you are still in your sins.”

But because He is raised, your sins are gone! Romans 4:25 says Jesus was

raised for our justification.

The cross paid the debt. The resurrection was God’s receipt — signed,

sealed, and delivered. When Jesus walked out of the tomb, the Father said,

“Paid in full.”

3. The Power to Transform Our Daily Lives (Ephesians 1:19-20 & Philippians 3:10)

The same power that raised Jesus is available to you right now.

Paul prayed that we would know the immeasurable greatness of God’s

power toward us who believe.

This power gives us: • Victory over temptation • Strength in weakness •

Forgiveness when we’ve been hurt • Courage when we’re afraid • Hope

when everything looks dead

Philippians 3:10 – “That I may know Him and the power of His

resurrection…”

Conclusion

The resurrection is not just an event in history. It is the power of God for

everyone who believes.
