PUT GOD FIRST FOR A STRONG FAMILY

"As the family goes, so goes the nation."

The Ten Commandments: These are not values that are fads that come and go. These are values have no expiration date.

Deut. 6:6-7 "Never forget these commands that I am giving you. Teach them to your children."

They are not the ten suggestions; they are the Ten Commandments. They're not optional.

Exodus 20:2 "You shall have no other gods before Me."

Put God first in my life and in my family.

A god is anything that dominates your life, anything that controls your life.

Every time God gives a principle, He gives a promise.

In everything you do, put God first and He will direct you and crown your efforts with success."

Put God first in your marriage, in your family, and you'll see tremendous benefits.

Put God first in your finances.

Proverbs 3:9 "Honor the Lord by giving Him the first part of all your income,"

Our approach to money and possessions isn’t just important— it’s central to our spiritual lives, individually and as a family.

Luke 19: 8 “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount”.

Luke 19:9 “Today salvation has come to this house”.

Luke 12: 20 “This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?”.

Matthew 19: 21 “Sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me”.

Scripture consistently reminds us that if Christ is not first in the use of our money, He is not first in our lives.

Our use of money and possessions demonstrates significantly our spiritual status.

Acts 20:35 In every way I’ve shown you that by laboring like this, it is necessary to help the weak and to keep in mind the words of the Lord Jesus, for He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

Malachi 3:10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!

Put God first in your interests.

I Corinthians 10:31 "Whatever you do, do it all for God's glory."

Put God first in your relationships

Prov. 27:19 "What a man is really like is shown by the kind of friends he chooses."

1 Corinthians 15:33 Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”

Proverbs 12:26 “The righteous should choose his friends carefully, For the way of the wicked leads them astray."

Put God first in your time.

Ephesians 5:16 “making the most of the time,, because the days are evil.”

I ask God to help me use my time wisely.

Priority is the name of the game.

If you find yourself having more things to do than you have time to do, it means you're doing some things that aren't God's will.

When you start feeling frustrated and hassled and frazzled it's because you're trying to do more than God wants you to do.

Make a daily appointment with God.

Put God first in your troubles.

Prayer should not be your last resort, it should be your first option.

Psalm 50:15 “Call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory.”

Worry is the warning light that God is not first in my life at this particular moment.

Matthew 6;33 "Seek first the kingdom of God and all these other things shall be added unto you."
