The Foundation That Will Not Crumble: Absolute Truth for Believers
and a Nation
In Isaiah 59, we saw the devastating results: separation from God, moral
chaos, injustice, and collapse of righteousness.
Jesus declared: “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). He
prayed: “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth” (John 17:17).
Three key truths:
Absolute Truth is not an idea — it is a Person: Jesus Christ.
God’s Word is the only reliable source of absolute truth.
The true gospel produces real faith, love, and unshakable hope.
THE FOUNDATION: GOD’S ABSOLUTE TRUTH FOR A STRONG LIFE AND
FAMILY
God gave us the Ten Commandments — His absolute truths to live by and
build our lives, families, and all relationships upon.
Deuteronomy 6:5–7 (ESV) You shall love the Lord your God with all your
heart and with all your soul and with all your might. 6 And these words that I
command you today shall be on your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently
to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and
when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
God says two things: remember them and teach them.
Why did God give the Ten Commandments? Not to hurt us but to help us.
Not to hinder us but to release us. Not to punish us but to protect us.
Exodus 20:2 “You shall have no other gods before Me.”
God’s absolute truth here: Put God first
A “god” (small g) = anything that dominates or controls your life
Matthew 7:24-25 – Wise man builds on the rock (hears and does Jesus’
words). Foolish man builds on sand. Wrong foundation → eventual collapse.
God’s Promise when we put Him first: “In everything you do, put God first
and He will direct you and crown your efforts with success.” (Proverbs 3:6)
FINANCES Proverbs 3:9-10 – Honor the Lord by giving Him the first part of
all your income...
Money is the number one test of your priorities.
Giving is an act of worship.
If God is not first in your finances, He is really not first in your life.
INTERESTS 1 Corinthians 10:31 “Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of
God.”
Do everything with an attitude of gratitude.
What gets you most excited? What do you talk about the most? That
reveals your real priorities.
RELATIONSHIPS 1 Corinthians 15:33 – “Bad company corrupts good
character.” Proverbs 12:26 – “A righteous man is careful about his
friendships.”
SCHEDULE (Time management) Ephesians 5:15–17 Therefore, consider
carefully how you live, not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of the
time because the days are evil. 17 Because of this do not become foolish, but
understand what the will of the Lord is.
Make a daily appointment with God (quiet time).
Pray together as a family at mealtimes.
TROUBLES Psalm 50:15 & "Call upon me in your day of trouble and I will
deliver you and you will honor me."
Make God your first resort, not your last.
Worry is the warning light that God is not first in that area. Matthew 6:33
“Seek first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto
you.”
The supreme thing in life is to be in right relationship with God. God
first. Man second. This order is absolutely vital.
Challenge: Will you commit to building your life and family on the
foundation that will not crumble by putting God first in every area?
